In recent years food prices have decreased generally in real terms. This trend seems to have an exponential tendency reaching its hypothetical base line in the near future (see Figure 12.2). However, because of growing world population, the increasing hunger for energy, and the demand for sustainable food and energy generation, future feedstock prices are expected to rise.
