Dots represent about 75 studies, which have >29,000 data series (of which ~27,800 are from European phenological studies of flora and fauna). Observed trends in surface air temperature and sea-surface temperature 1970-2004 (HadCRUT3 Brohan et al., 2006). White regions do not contain sufficient observational climate data to estimate a trend.
