Ecology And Environment

Ecology is the study of the diversity, abundance, and activities of life. Similarly, it is the study of life and its interactions with its physical and biotic environment. These interactions dictate where life forms (diversity) occur, how many (abundance) are present, and what they do (activities). It is generally agreed that the most important component of the environment that impinges on ecology is the availability of heat and light. The availability of light and solar heat is rather different in the Arctic compared with most of the globe.
