The sequence of abrupt events during the last Termination - the abrupt w arming into Boiling, the Allerod cooling, the Younger 1 )ryas, and its termination - are all visible in the stable isotopes of ice from Greenland (right) and carbonates from Lake Gcracnsoc in Switzerland (from Ocschgcr et ai., ]fJ84).
