Research Approach

This chapter lays out the research approach that will be used to further understand how the political dynamics might affect the framing of Arctic climate change. It includes a rationale for focusing on Arctic climate change and presents some comments on using a case study approach, including a discussion of its potential value for understanding and explaining science-policy dynamics. The chapter also presents the methods used for gathering empirical material, an ethical analysis of the project, some notes on my role as a researcher in terms of situated knowledge, and some comments on language and word use choices.
